There are 3 types of formats for dates and times in Session Buddy, each of which is detailed in this article.

You can specify your preference of format in the Appearance tab of the Session Buddy settings dialog.

Standard Format

This is a shortened date/time format based on your locale as determined by the default language selection in Chrome settings.

When this format is selected, dates and times display accordingly on session tiles in the navigation pane. Session detail (the area below the session header) displays a relative date and time format in this case.

Relative Format

Relative format displays a description of how much time has passed since a date’s occurence. This description is displayed in the language consistent with the default language selection in Chrome settings.

When this format is selected, dates and times display accordingly on session tiles in the navigation pane. Session detail (the area below the session header) displays the date and time according to the last-specified custom format in this case.

Custom Format

The date and time format can be customized textually as per the syntax outlined below.

When this format is selected, dates and times display accordingly on session tiles in the navigation pane. Session detail (the area below the session header) displays a relative date and time format in this case.

As an example, the following custom format specification:

dddd, MMMM Do YYYY, h:mm:ss a

displays the date and time as follows when the default language is set to English (US) in Chrome:

Sunday, February 14th 2010, 3:25:50 pm

The table below summarizes the text elements that can be used to compose a custom format specification.
